CBSE conducts compartment exam for students who could not pass in one or two subjects in class 10 or 12 board exams. The board give 3 chances to such students to clear the CBSE Compartment Exam. Otherwise, such students will be dropped into the Failed Section, and they will have to be readmitted to their previous class.

When Class 10th and 12th board exam result are announced, many students pass the exam with high scores while some not. Regular students who want to appear in the compartment exam need to visit their respective schools for the process of the compartment exam. The School Admin will fill CBSE Compartment Exam application forms on the official website. Whereas, Private students will have to apply via an online process.  Students can apply at the CBSE website (www.cbseonline.ernet.in) by entering the admit card information.  The online application for compartment exam has started from 13th August 2020.

For regular candidates, schools have to submit List of Candidates (LOC) both for Class XII and Class X through e-Pariksha platform. Only those candidates whose name is submitted through the online process will be allowed to appear for the exam, which is to be conducted in September 2020. Schools will be informed about the date of downloading of the admit cards later by the board.

1) Keep your previous information ready before applying, like admit card and marks statement having information about your main examination.

2) Fill in all the details carefully. On submission, you will be shown the application no. Note down the application number for future references.

3) Upload your scanned Photo and Signature image using the “Upload Image” option.

4) Go to the “Fee Payment” option and pay the fee online.

5) Go to “Generate Confirmation Page” option to generate the confirmation page.

Schools can also direct and help such “Private Candidates” in applying online and filling the application form.

CBSE will conduct the optional examination 2020 for the students whose results have been declared based on the assessment scheme, in subjects whose examination were scheduled to be conducted from 1st July to 15th July 2020 . Students are allowed to appear in these optional examinations to improve their performance if they wish so. Marks obtained by students in optional examinations 2020 will be treated as final.
