The tallest gymnosperm (and tree) in the world is the Hyperion (Sequoia sempervirens): 115.85 m.

For comparison, an average adult human is about 1.8 meters tall; the Atlantis (a space shuttle) is 56 meters tall; General Sherman ( Sequoiadendron giganteum)  is 83.8 meters tall. The tallest gymnosperm (and tree) in the world is the Hyperion ( Sequoia sempervirens):  115.85 m The Hyperion is a coast redwood located in the Redwood National and State Parks, along the coast of northern California, in the United States. The tree is believed to be around 600 years old ( estimated by Stephen Sillett ) while others speculate the tree to be over 700 years old. The actual location of the tree is kept a secret to ensure that the tree remains undamaged.
